Pensacola, Fla. – The Cpl. J.R. Spears Detachment of the Marine Corps League announces the Annual Heroes Among Us speaker series event for July 25th, 2019 with our Guest of Honor Captain Tim McGuire, USCG

Captain McGuire is the former Commanding Officer of, Navy Aviation Training Squadron Two and he retired in 2015. Captain McGuire has more than 6,000 flight hours in various aircraft including the CH 53-A/E, the S-76A along with the HH-65 and HU-25. He is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (1999), the University of Southern California (1996), The Naval Post Graduate School (1991) and Seton Hall University (1981).

Captain McGuire has over 30 years of experience in aviation safety management and flight instruction. He has been directly responsible in Command billets for aviation safety and instruction. His military career includes service, as a Naval Aviator,in the United States Marine Corps and the Coast Guard. Currently he is a contract simulator instructor for the T6-B Texan II at Whiting Field in Milton.

Admission is free and open to the public, although donations will be accepted for the Heroes Among Us Fund to help veterans in need.
